On May 30, 2026, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited issued a clarification on its X account. According to the authorities, the social media post claiming free metro rides for RCB fans is misleading. The authorities wrote, “We have observed certain advertisements claiming free metro travel would be available for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans on May 31, 2026, in connection with the IPL Final Match being played in Ahmedabad.”

BMRCL clarified that it has not announced or approved any scheme providing free metro travel on May 31 for anyone. The authorities also added that all passengers travelling on Namma Metro are required to purchase valid tickets. They can also use Smart Cards, QR Tickets, NCMC Cards, etc.

Public Advised To Trust Official Updates Only

According to BMRCL, no permission or approval has been granted to any individual, organisation or entity to advertise or promote free metro travel for RCB fans. The authorities also advised the public not to rely on unauthorised social media messages and advertisements. They should trust information posted only through official BMRCL communication channels.

So, we hope it is clear that the social media posts claiming free metro rides in Bengaluru on May 31 are misleading. Be aware of fake social media posts and always stay updated through the official social media accounts of Bengaluru Metro.
