The Taj West End Hotel in Bengaluru received a bomb threat on Saturday. Local police and a bomb squad were rushed to the location immediately. As per police officials, the threat was sent by unidentified miscreants via email. According to the latest update, the threat email was a hoax and an investigation is now underway to know more about this incident.

Taj West End Hotel, located near Bengaluru’s Race Course Road, received a bomb threat via email on Saturday morning. The Highgrounds Police Station immediately sprung into action and started a search of the hotel. A bomb squad was also sent in to investigate the premises thoroughly.

The luxurious hotel hosts some of the most prominent politicians, cricketers, and celebrities in the city. After receiving the threatening email, the hotel staff informed their superiors and the police were immediately alerted. As per the latest update by Deccan Herald, the police have confirmed that the threat email was a hoax.

Police Confirms That Bomb Threat Is Hoax, Launches Probe

After the initial investigation by the Highgrounds Police Station and the bomb squad, it has been confirmed that there was no bomb in the Taj West End Hotel, Bengaluru. However, the authorities have decided to tighten the security around the hotel for the time being.

As per Shekhar H Tekkannavar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Bengaluru), they have started an investigation to know more about this incident. They have filed a case against the unidentified miscreant and will now launch a probe to know more about this hoax bomb threat.
