Bengaluru’s Vidhana Soudha Gets New Permanent Light; Metro Pillars & Heritage Spots Next In Line

Bengaluru’s prized heritage spot and photo-op, Vidhana Soudha, is dazzling with new lights, officially inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Serving as the state legislature of Karnataka, Vidhana Soudha’s Neo-Dravidian style structure has a new several crores-worth of permanent lighting system. Vidhana Soudha In Bengaluru Will Be Illuminated Year-Round

As per a report by Hindustan Times, Bengaluru’s Vidhana Soudha is now illuminated in an electric permanent lighting system. The seat of the state legislature has a vibrant makeover, which costs several crores. The government brought this electric illumination project to life to enhance the grandeur of the historic building and welcome visitors during weekends and special occasions.

Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader was also one of the dignitaries, along with the CM and Deputy CM, who formally switched on the newly installed electric lights on April 6, evening. Bathed in tricolour, Vidhana Soudha looked majestic, lighting up the city’s skyline in an instant. This is not just a one-off initiative. In fact, Vidhana Soudha will be illuminated in the new lights every weekend and on special occasions.

Karnataka Govt. Identifies 40 Spots In The City To Be Decked With Lights

To witness Vidhana Soudha’s new look, visitors can head to the heritage building on the weekends between 6:30 pm and 10 pm. Speaker UT Khader proposed that the public must be allowed to visit on Sunday to get an exclusive view of the illuminated Vidhana Soudha. While Bengalureans have flocked to the heritage building many times during national occasions to view the lights. This is the first time the structure will be illuminated year-round.

This installation will boost civic pride and will be a visual landmark in the buzzing city of Bengaluru. Moreover, as per a report by The New Indian Express, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that the government has plans to illuminate heritage buildings and Metro pillars in the city. As per Shivakumar, 40 places have been identified to be adorned with the new electric lighting system.
