Mediterranean cuisine is actually a really vast term. The Mediterranean region encompasses a lot of countries. Egyptian, Levantine, Turkish, Greek, and even Italian and French cuisine can be included in Mediterranean cuisine. The cuisine primarily uses a lot of fresh produce and olive oil. We set out to find the best Mediterranean restaurants in Mumbai, and this is what we found.

1. Opa! Bar & Cafe

A pub with surprisingly good food is Opa! The place turns into a buzzing nightclub by night but boasts a great menu. Their Mezze Platter goes insanely well with the drinks that pour freely once the party mood sets in.

2. Arbab

This eatery in Bandra has some of the most authentic Mediterranean food in the city. If you are a meat lover, then you will absolutely love this place because their kebabs are out of this world. And while you are at it, make sure you try out their Manakish.

3. Mabruk

Located inside Sahara Star, Mabruk is a treasure trove of Mediterranean delights. Head here for the crunchy yet soft falafel, and only leave once you have had the rich baklava for dessert.

4. Souk

It really doesn’t get grander than dining at the Taj Palace Hotel. They have a multitude of restaurants within the premises, but we love Souk in particular because the food here is really light on the stomach and flavourful at the same time.

5. Bayroute

After opening to a really good response, Bayroute has opened up multiple outlets across the city. And the food here is always exemplary. They stick to what they do best, which is good Levantine food.

6. Rue Du Liban

One of the best Mediterranean restaurants in South Mumbai, Rue Du Liban’s portions are extremely generous, as is their usage of olive oil. The food tastes as good as it does in Turkey or Lebanon. We love the Shish Taouk here and highly recommend it.

7. Razzberry Rhinoceros

You are probably wondering why we were talking about salads, but honestly, that is exactly what Mediterranean food is all about. They don’t believe in being pretentious about their food and present it in the rawest form possible. And yes, it is quite amazing!

8. The Little Door

We love the vibe at The Little Door. It’s like you are in an eatery somewhere in Santorini. The restaurant is decorated to look that way, and their food is Greek too. Their hummus snack board, in particular, is everybody’s favourite.

9. Tiqri

Fresh watermelon paired with crumbly feta cheese is literally a dream come true. I think it is the best salad out there, and Tiqri makes a pretty good one. And their creamy hummus is just splendid! With much more Mediterranean cuisine on its menu, it is certainly the place to be.
