This time, Bhagyashree introduced an Arunachali delicacy to her followers on Instagram. In many ways, busting the myth that northeastern food just comprised non-vegetarian dishes. Here’s more to it.
Bhagyashree Falls In Love With Lai Ki Sabzi
Bhagyashree who was in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital Itanagar enjoyed Lai Ki Sabzi, a vegetarian Arunachali delicacy. This dish is made of mustard leaves and bamboo shoots. The actress points out that it comprises a lot of nutrients that our body needs. Eaten with white rice, it has lai or mustard leaves, bamboo shoots and a hint of bhoot jolokia, a fiery chilli commonly used in Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and other northeastern states.

While it’s tasteful to the tongue, it’s also great for Weight Watchers, quipped Bhayashree in her Instagram post. Of course, Lai Ki Sabzi is not for the faint-hearted, she warns. This Arunachali dish is packed with fibre, minerals, calcium, manganese, copper, zinc and potassium and helps in burning fat. If you’re worried about how it tastes, the actress assures that it doesn’t taste bitter.

This Healthy Arunachali Delicacy Is Packed With Nutrients
Netizens were awe-inspired to discover a vegetarian, supremely healthy dish from Arunachal Pradesh. A Bhagyashree-approved dish. Reacting to her post, an Instagrammer called it delicious. Others said it looked nutritious and delicious. A resident of Itanagar called it a speciality in their cuisine. And it’s made at least once a week in their home.
Some Netizens even corrected the actress as she called Lai, bottle gourd leaves when in fact they are mustard leaves. Showering her comments section with heart emojis, Netizens seemed delighted to be introduced to a hidden gem of Arunachali cuisine.
