Bhubaneswar will have increased air connectivity with the introduction of direct flights to Ghaziabad and Port Blair. The long-awaited air facilities will commence on March 30, providing tourists with trouble-free travel avenues between these two cities. The Odisha government too has welcomed the move, calling it a crucial step towards improving tourism, trade, and regional connectivity.
Bhubaneswar Direct Flights: A Move Towards Enhanced Connectivity
The introduction of direct Bhubaneswar flights is one of the moves by Odisha to develop its air network. Air India Express will operate the flights under the New Destination Policy to enable air travel facilities for business travellers as well as holidaymakers.
According to Hindustan Times, the Bhubaneswar-Ghaziabad route will connect Biju Patnaik International Airport (Bhubaneswar) with Hindon Airport (Ghaziabad).
According to the official schedule, the Hindon flight will depart at 9:20 AM and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 11:45 AM. The return flight will depart from Bhubaneswar at 12:15 PM and land at Hindon at 2:30 PM.
Likewise, the Bhubaneswar-Port Blair flight will depart from Bhubaneswar at 10:35 AM and arrive in Port Blair at 12:55 PM. The return flight will depart from Port Blair at 1:25 PM and arrive in Bhubaneswar at 3:35 PM.

Boost To Tourism, Business & Cultural Exchange
Odisha Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has welcomed these flights as a great milestone for the state. The CMO, in a statement, appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting the move and said that it will help boost Odisha’s economic growth and cultural exchange.
With Odisha’s Viksit Odisha vision in action, the expansion of air services is likely to enhance trade relations, increase tourist arrivals, and offer improved travel facilities.
The direct connectivity to Ghaziabad will be helpful for business travellers and government officials, while the Port Blair route will promote tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
