  • Start preparing ukadiche modak by making the dough. Take a pan and add milk, water, ghee, and a pinch of salt.
  • Let the mix simmer.
  • Once done, add a cup of rice flour and mix well to make a soft and smooth dough. Make sure to knead gently and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, start cooking the flavourful filling. Take a separate pan, add ghee, and saute grated coconut. Add grated jaggery and cardamom powder and sprinkle poppy seeds too. Mix all the ingredients well until you get a thick-consistency coconut and jaggery stuffing.
  • Once the dough and the filling are ready, start shaping the sweets. Grease your palms with ghee, flatten a small portion of dough, stuff with coconut filling, and seal the ends perfectly.
  • Arrange all the modaks on haldi leaves placed on a tray. Add saffron strands to each of these sweets and steam.
  • Lastly, drizzle ghee on ukadiche modak and relish them.
