Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express Trains Launched Ahead Of Diwali; Check Routes, Timings, Schedule Here

Good news for passengers travelling between Patna and New Delhi! Indian Railways has launched two special Vande Bharat Express trains ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja. These trains will operate from October 11 to November 17, making festive travel smoother and faster for passengers. Keep reading to know all about the schedule, routes, and timings.

Special Vande Bharat Express Trains Between Delhi & Patna


The trains began operations on Friday, October 11 and will run on this route till November 17, offering a comfortable and convenient travel experience. According to a report by India TV, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, stated that Indian Railways has introduced these semi-high-speed Vande Bharat festive special trains to ensure safe and comfortable travel during the festive season.

As thousands of people travel between Delhi and Patna in Bihar, for Diwali and Chhath Puja, these special trains will certainly make the journey faster and easier amid the festive rush. Northern Railway also confirmed the news on their official X account. They wrote, “The vibrancy of Diwali and Chhath will now be even more special! For the convenience of rail passengers and a pleasant travel experience, 2 high-speed Vande Bharat festival special trains are being operated between New Delhi and Patna Jn.”

Route, Timings, Stoppages And Schedule

The festive special Vande Bharat trains will run till November 17, after which the service will stop once the festive season ends. These two trains will cover a distance of 1,000 km in around 13 hours and 30 minutes. Train No. 02252/02251 New Delhi-Patna-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express will have 16 coaches. Train No. 02253/02254, Patna-New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express, will have 20 coaches. 

The two new Vande Bharat Express trains will have stoppages at six stations. These include: Aligarh, Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, and Ara. To make it simpler for you, here’s the full schedule so that you can plan your trips without any hassle.

Train No. 02251:  Patna to New Delhi

Departure: 10:00 am from Patna
Arrival: 11:30 pm at New Delhi
Time Taken: 13 hours 30 mins

Train No. 02253: Patna to New Delhi

Departure: 10:00 am from Patna
Arrival: 11:30 pm at New Delhi
Time Taken: 12 hours 30 mins

Train No. 02254: New Delhi to Patna

Departure: 8:35 am from New Delhi
Arrival: 9:30 pm at Patna
Time Taken: 12 hrs 55 mins

These festive special Vande Bharat trains are expected to make travel more efficient for hundreds of passengers, meeting the high demand during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja.
