The Abu Dhabi Sports Council has confirmed that the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo cycling race will return after its enormously successful debut. On Saturday, November 18, a challenging 154 km stretch will be covered in the event. The cycling event will be broadcasted globally on Abu Dhabi Sports Channel. The second Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo competition will be an exciting opportunity for cycling lovers in the UAE, especially in Abu Dhabi.

The Cash Prize Is A Whopping Dhs2 Million

Yes, you read that right! The champion of this event will take home Dhs2 Million along with a lot of wholesome memories of riding across the UAE Capital. The Bike Abu Dhabi platform hosts a variety of events around the year. But Gran Fondo stands to be one of the most notable. Of course, the prize money of Dhs2 million, or the “gran kahuna,” is what riders will be racing for. Did you know that the prizes would be distributed equally between the men’s and women’s categories? Yes, it has been announced by the organising committee as well.

The competition aims to promote cycling as a sustainable form of transportation in the UAE and as a component of a healthy lifestyle. In recent years, a vast network of bicycle pathways, including Trail X, a 15 km mountain bike trail on Hudayriyat Island, has been created to support this objective.
