I discovered in mid-air on an Indigo flight that you can’t buy a soft drink. The airline has made it obligatory to also buy a snack, regardless of whether you want it or not. This is coercion and I urge minister @JM_Scindia to restore the principles le of choice to fliers.…

Netizens Have Mixed Opinions On This Post On The X Platform
IndiGo witnesses a major passenger footfall each and every day. Many passengers share their in-flight experiences probably every day. After Swapan Dasgupta shared this tweet on the airline’s obligatory rule of buying a snack while getting a soft drink, Netizens shared their experiences as well. Many came forward in support of the BJP leader and shared the problems they faced while flying with IndiGo. A lot of Internet users agree with the tweet about the airline’s compulsory rule. Here are some replies from Netizens talking about their inconveniences while flying with IndiGo.
Shaurin (@itsSSG_) shared how IndiGo does not provide meals on international flights, forget domestic.
@IndiGo6E doesnt even provide meal on international flights, forget domestic. All other major airlines, even Air India and Vistara, provide meal and drinks. All major intl carriers provide multiple meals if journey is longer. It will be tough for IndiGo to compete in intl markets

Completely agree. And there are hardly any window or aisle seats available without paying extra

Yes. Once coming from Madrid on Qatar airways, in the Doha Del flight it was operated by Indigo and they were giving water in paper cups while on same route Qatar airways give full meal. Indigo should not be allowed to operate in international routes.

Glad someone influential brought this up. On a recent @IndiGo6E flight I wanted to have a coffee but had to desist because of the pre-condition of buying food with the beverage.

This is very typical of low cost airlines. This one actually goes too far.

So far the only thing they haven’t charged is use of the loo. Good to see this issue is raised by someone in the government circles.

On the other hand, some people even shared how they never faced any such issues while flying on an IndiGo flight. They talked about how they never noticed or reported an experience like this.
I have flown @IndiGo6E several times both domestic nd international, never faced this ,there is no coercion. As for seat selection, most airlines charge for aisle nd XL seat. Yes the price for the food items can be reduced.

Didn’t notice anything like that. Have purchased tea or beverages onboard many times. While people may have complaints about 6E not offering frills, they have transformed air connectivity through the country and made flying accessible for a large number of people.

It sounds strange,Sir! My son is a frequent flier and he hasn’t reported anything like that.
