Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIAB/BLR Airport) has recently made history by securing seven prestigious accolades at the Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Conference and Awards in Ontario, California. The FAB Awards are renowned for recognising excellence in airport food, beverage, and hospitality services worldwide. They are the only global event of their kind, celebrating excellence while paving the way for future advancements. This year’s awards were especially significant, as they marked a return to the event’s traditional mid-year schedule and in-person format after a four-year break due to the pandemic.

One of the standout winners from BLR Airport was the new 080 Domestic Lounge. It was awarded ‘Airport Lounge of the Year,’ a testament to its unique blend of Karnataka’s heritage and modern sophistication. The lounge offers travellers a distinctive experience, with features such as a spa-inspired by Mysore’s royal opulence and a bar reflecting Bengaluru’s vibrant culture. The lounge also includes the Kodagu Cafe, which showcases artwork by local artists, and a peaceful ‘Oasis Lounge’ for relaxation.
