Bobby Deol’s Ghar Ka Khana & Its “Scientific” Food Habits

It is safe to say that the entire Deol family is excessively fond of the vegetable Lauki! Well, except for Bobby’s kids, everyone goes gaga over a simple vegetable. Kamiya wondered how someone could be obsessed with this vegetable so much! Well, Bobby revealed that he loves home-cooked food and also has scientific reasons to consume Lauki almost every day.

It all goes back to Bobby’s grandmother, who was a vegetarian. For her, the menu largely consisted of Lauki, Tori, Tinde, Gajar, and Moong ki Dal. These versatile vegetables and moong dal were prepared in the evening and consumed for dinner. They are rich in fibre and antioxidants, which help to keep the body hydrated and provide many nutritional values.

Bobby then highlighted that kali dal or rajma was never consumed for dinner. He pointed out that a lot of food items can’t be digested during the night. This might result in gastric or digestive problems. Hence, they never ate heavy meals for dinner and kept it light with Lauki, Tori, Tinde, or Gajar ki sabzi.
