The resume of the e-visa facility for British travellers is such a piece of news. But so are scams. The British High Commissioner has tweeted a warning against visa scams that are circulating on the Internet. This happened just two days after the High Commissioner to United Kingdoms announced the resume of the e-visa facility and the site undergoing certain changes. The British High Commissioner to India cautioned against scams through his Twitter account. The scammers are allegedly using Alex Ellis’s name to extract money from Indian nationals that are seeking UK visas. The tweet warned to be suspicious if the offer is too good to be true. Further, the thread of tweets stated that they never ask for money, especially for their personal accounts. If such a thing happens, then do not engage.

The warning was against fake websites as well. The look-alike websites of the official United Kingdoms website are a similar threat. Even the emails that pose as UK visa employees are not supposed to be in contact with.

Caution To The Travellers

The tweets by Alex Ellis stressed that if an easy job or a quick visa is guaranteed, the trap is real. The promise to get a visa on the scammer-provided documents is also a trap for people. Obtaining a visa to fly to another country is a complicated thing. There is a high possibility of people falling into money traps and cautioning them is necessary.
