The only concern is the long pilgrimage to reach the shrine at such an elevated location. Well, the issues to reach Amarnath come to an end as the Border Roads Organisation has worked on extending the road connectivity of the Amarnath Shrine.
BRO Constructed Road To Amarnath Shrine From Baltal
Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Vikramaditya Singh (@vikramaditya_JK) shared his thoughts about the construction of the road and its impact on our environment and ecosystem.
The Former Member of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council congratulated the Border Roads Organisation for working on this road from Baltal to the iconic Amarnath shrine. While talking about road connectivity, he also voiced his apprehension about the environmental impact on the ecosystem. The starting of four-wheelers moving on the road connecting Baltal to Amarnath shrine also leaves an impact on nature. “Uncontrolled pollution, sewage & garbage are rapidly destroying our mountains, forests & rivers”, added Vikramaditya Singh.
Netizens also agree with the concerns of the Former Member Of the J&K Legislative Council. Some shared their thoughts on how this can be a reason for local issues because of transportation on this route and more. In fact, some environmentalists in Jammu and Kashmir raised their concerns about the new road leading to the shrine. They are a bit worried about the development that may damage nature.
As more and more cars will start travelling on this motorable road, the pollution is about to see a rise too. More tourist footfall also signifies a spike in garbage, sewage, and pollution issues which overall can lead to an impact on nature and the environment.

Here’s All You Need To Know About The Road Connectivity
Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Ashish Chauhan (@ashishchauhan) shared some information about this route to spirituality.
It has been more than a hundred years since devotees could not use the help of equipped vehicular movement to reach the Amarnath Shrine. Only non-motorised transportation facilities were available previously to reach the shrine. But the new development by the Border Roads Organisation brings the good news of devotees being able to reach their destination by travelling on four-wheelers. Ashish Chauhan calls it a “remarkable historical milestone”.
The road now takes the visitors straight to the top of the destination. The road takes everyone to the Amarnath Shrine from Dumail and it passes via the Baltal base camp, according to a report by The Asian Age. This fascinating start of four-wheelers running on the expanded road is all set to make pilgrims’ experiences of travelling to the holy shrine a lot more comfortable.
