Turbulences are scary and these strong sudden movements can get horrifyingly alarming at times. Passengers tend to get frightened during such incidents and the fear of turbulence is quite evident in many people. Recently, a Lufthansa flight encountered severe turbulence while travelling to Frankfurt from Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, some people onboard the aircraft sustained injuries.
Frankfurt-Bound Lufthansa Flight Hit Severe Turbulence
It was on November 12 when the plane faced horrible turbulence while flying over the Atlantic, according to a report by NDTV. The airline shared necessary updates about the incident and stated that a total of 11 people on the flight suffered injuries. After the Lufthansa flight encountered severe turbulence, five passengers and six cabin crew members sustained wounds and injuries. They faced minor injuries in this mid-air crisis.
A Lufthansa spokesperson informed that the flight safety was not in jeopardy during the major mishap. It was the Boeing 747-8 that faced the strong turbulence on Tuesday over the Atlantic. On that day, 329 passengers and 19 cabin crew members were travelling on the aircraft. The plane made a safe landing in Frankfurt at 10:53 AM (0953 GMT) on Tuesday.
Turbulences are alarming and can be life-threatening too, unfortunately. A passenger onboard a Singapore Airlines flight encountered turbulence mid-air. It was back in May 2024 when the incident occurred. According to several reports making rounds on the Internet, an air pocket over Myanmar’s Irrawaddy Basin hit the aircraft. Among people travelling on the Singapore Airlines flights, 30 suffered from injuries. Sadly, a passenger died that day too. The suspected reason behind the unfortunate demise was a heart attack.

Though the turbulence was a severe one, it affected for a short duration. It took place suddenly in an intertropical convergence zone. The airline further added that the injured passengers and crew members received necessary medical treatment right after landing in Frankfurt on Tuesday.
