It’s no secret that India is on the road to progress, and development is taking place at a fast pace. With highways connecting different parts of the country to each other, travelling by road is certainly going to be one of the most loved forms, in just a matter of few years. And soon, this development is also going to help connect the cities of Mumbai and Kolkata through a nearly seamless access-controlled expressway connectivity. Here’s how this is bound to be possible.
Mumbai-Kolkata To Have A Nearly Seamless Access-Controlled Connectivity
In a recent post by Infra News India (INI), it was revealed that by 2028, Mumbai to Kolkata will nearly have seamless access-controlled expressway connectivity. This will be done through the upcoming expressways that are already connecting different cities that fall between the two metropolitans.
In case you’re wondering, it will be possible through the following expressways –
- Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway
- Nagpur-Bhandara-Gondia Expressway
- Raipur-Dhanbad Economic Corridor
- Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway
Nagpur-Bhandara-Gondia Expressway Proposed
However, this connectivity is still going to be incomplete, as there will be some missing links. Yes, this will be from Bhandara to Raipur. As a result, the rest of the route will basically consist of a seamless access-controlled expressway. Additionally, this speculation comes after the Nagpur-Bhandara-Gondia Expressway the Eastern Maharashtra Expressway was proposed.
Yes, this would be a 127-km highway in Eastern Maharashtra that will also be an extension of the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway. And, it will be connecting the districts of Nagpur, Bhadra, and Gondia and is expected to reduce travel time between Nagpur and Gondia to about two hours. In case you’re wondering, currently it takes 4 to 5 hours to travel between the two destinations.
This means that if the expressway gets the green light and is completed on time, travelling between Mumbai and Kolkata is going to be a nearly seamless experience for people.
So, don’t forget to stay tuned to the space for more details regarding proposed expressways in the country.
