Abu Dhabi’s airport is set to undergo a significant transformation as it rebrands to Zayed International Airport, effective February 9. This decision, previously announced in October last year, pays homage to the visionary leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Say Goodbye To Abu Dhabi Airport And Hello To Zayed International!

Recently crowned the world’s leading airport operator at The World Travel Awards, Abu Dhabi’s airport has solidified its position as a global aviation hub. The inauguration of Terminal A in 2023 marked a milestone in its journey towards excellence.

Terminal A Unveiled

Spanning an impressive 742,000 square metres, Terminal A, formerly known as the Midfield Terminal during construction, boasts state-of-the-art facilities capable of accommodating up to 11,000 passengers per hour. With a capacity to handle 79 aircraft simultaneously, Terminal A is poised to welcome a staggering 45 million passengers annually.

Celebratory Atmosphere With Live Performances And Surprises

To commemorate the renaming, Zayed International Airport will host a series of festivities from Friday, February 9, to Sunday, February 11. Travellers can expect enticing discounts and special offers across duty-free outlets, restaurants, shops, and cafes, adding a touch of excitement to their airport experience.

Travellers passing through Abu Dhabi Airport during this period can look forward to live performances by international artists, bespoke giveaways, and a host of other delightful surprises, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere for all.

Expanding Horizons

In addition to the renaming celebrations, Zayed International Airport is expanding its horizons with a slew of new flight routes. Etihad Airways recently announced direct routes to destinations like Nice and Boston, offering passengers even more connectivity and convenience. Furthermore, the addition of Hainan Airlines reinforces the airport’s commitment to enhancing connectivity with China.
