Medical emergencies on a flight can be quite scary, and they can often create instances for flight diversion or emergency landing. Something similar happened to a Saudia flight that was headed to London. A cabin manager passed away on mid-flight aboard the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, which was flying to London from Jeddah, while he was still on duty. Here’s what happened on the flight.

He was on duty aboard the flight when the tragic incident happened mid-flight on June 26. Although immediate medical attention was given by the flight crew and on board personnel, he was pronounced that when the flight made an emergency landing at Cairo International Airport.
Emergency Landing Happened At Cairo International Airport
As announced by Saudia, this was a tragic loss of one of the most devoted members of the airline. A model of commitment, professionalism, and integrity, colleagues widely admired his work ethic. As it happens, Saudia is now in coordination with the Saudi Embassy in Egypt. They are completing the procedures for the reparation of his body to the kingdom. However, the airline did express gratitude to the crew of the flight for the calm and professional handling of the situation.

Another Such Incident On Air India Flight
This is not the only case of an emergency on a flight. On June 26, another such incident took place when an Air India flight had to return to Kolkata due to a medical emergency. This flight AI 186, was operating on the Vancouver-Kolkata-Delhi sector. With 162 passengers and crew onboard, the flight had landed in Kolkata for its technical halt, which was as scheduled. When it took off for Delhi, 25 minutes later, the aircraft had to return to the airport. This happened because a passenger had become ill and a precautionary landing had been undertaken. The pilots sought a doctor, and an ambulance had come, after which, the sick passenger was deplaned.
This shows that medical emergencies can happen at any time, but it’s how the flight crew members handle the situation that makes the difference.
