Mangoes Have Anti-Ageing Properties

Certified nutritionist and health coach Digvijay Singh posted a video on Instagram where said eating mangoes can help you look younger. The content creator went on to explain that a mid size mango of about 150 g has around 100 calories only. He advocates that the fruit can be consumed by a person on a diet. Also, it will nourish you with 50 to 60 per cent of daily requirement of vitamin C.

Thanks to the abundance of vitamin C present in mangoes, it will boost the collagen production in your body and ensure you have enough elasticity in your skin, keeping wrinkles at bay. Dr Twincy Ann Sunil, clinical dietician, Apollo Spectra Hospitals, Bengaluru, threw more light on this fruit that may be the fountain of our youth. She stated to The Indian Express that mangoes that apart from their delicious taste, mangoes are also celebrated for their “impressive nutritional profile”.

The dietician agrees with Digvijay Singh that mangoes are filled with several bioactive compounds which are known to replenish one with anti-ageing properties. Mangoes have antioxidants, mangiferin, carotenoids and phenolic compounds. Digvijay also said that vitamin A present in mangoes boost one’s eye health and prevent fine lines. The mangiferin helps reduce inflammation. He suggests soaking the mangoes in water for 2-3 hours before consuming it.

Fruit Is Filled With Antioxidants, Carotenoids & Vitamins

Bharat Naidu, coach and nutritionist, MultiFit stated to The Indian Express that while mangoes rule the anti-ageing arena in the same way as berries or pomegranates, they still have an impressive amount of antioxidants and polyphenols. Dr Twincy Ann Sunil stated that the juicy fruit has a blend of carotenoids, vitamins and mangiferin that provide a complementary set of anti-ageing benefits.
