The most stressful part about catching domestic flights would have to be ensuring the check-in baggage weighs not more than 15 kg. Picture this: you place your bag on the scale, and keep your eyes glued on the reading hoping and praying it doesn’t exceed 15 kg or else a hefty excess baggage fee would follow. Recently, an IndiGo flyer shared a shocking video where he discovered his bag weighed differently on different weighing machines at Chandigarh Airport. Here’s more to it.

Man Finds His Bag Had Different Weight Readings At IndiGo Check-In Counter

Educational consultant, Daksh Sethi AKA @worldofjobstreet took to his Instagram handle to slam the IndiGo check-in counter at Chandigarh Airport. The passenger flying from Chandigarh to Delhi alleged encountering an unusual inconsistency at the check-in counter. Sethi shared a reel in which he is seen placing his bag on the check-in counter. The bag weighs 14.5 kg. Next, he placed the same bag in the adjacent counter and the reading showed 12.2 kg. A whopping 2.3 kg difference!

In his caption, Sethi mentioned that this incident took place at around 4 pm on January 30, 2025. He stressed that it was the same bag placed in two counters which showed two different readings with a 2.3 kg difference. Through his experience, the Instagrammer questioned if the machines were manipulated. Daksh Sethi hoped it was a rare case, one which was due to a technical glitch. He informed me that he felt his bag wasn’t as heavy as the weight mentioned. So, the professional at the counter asked him to place his bag on the adjacent belt and that showed the right reading.
