Michael Chiarello, a celebrity chef and Food Network star breathed his last on October 6 at the age of 61 after suffering a chronic allergic attack that led to anaphylactic shock. The celebrity chef had many feathers in his cap like hosting shows on the Food Network and PBS as well as guest appearances on The Next Iron Chef, Top Chef and Top Chef Masters.
American Celebrity Chef Michael Chiarello Passes Away At 61
Born on January 26, 1962, Michael Chiarello, is a well-known American chef and restaurateur with 10 restaurants to his credit. This includes his famous Bottega Restaurant in California’s Napa Valley. His new Spanish restaurant, Coqueta in San Francisco garnered a shiny 3.5-star review from the Francisco Chronicle. It also contended as a finalist for the 2013 James Beard awards for Best New Restaurant.
The star chef was also awarded a Daytime Emmy in 2005 for being an outstanding service show host for his ‘Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello’, a Food Network show. Over the course of his life, he wrote many cookbooks and won multiple awards including the renowned Chef of the Year award by Food and Wine Magazine in 1985.

Culinary Industry Mourns His Loss
Michael Chiarello took his last breath at California’s Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Michael Chiarello was surrounded by his friends and family. After his death, Gruppo Chiarello restaurant group released a statement. They stated that the Chef’s passion for both food and life will be etched in their hearts forever. And as they mourn Michael Chiarello’s passing, they will also celebrate his rich legacy that continues in his world-famous restaurants Bottega, Ottimo and Coqueta.
The family shall hold a private funeral for the celebrity chef. And instead of flowers, they are asking for donations to be made to Meals on Wheels. His untimely death due to an allergic reaction has left fans, fellow chefs and patrons of the food industry mourning his loss. Celebrity chef Robert Irvine mourned his death on social media, calling it a sad day for the culinary world.
