Over piping hot Moringa Soup and Ragi Grain Pizza, the very dynamic Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Hon. CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis, chatted with our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani. Amruta graciously laid out a healthy spread on this Sunday Brunch episode at her home, Varsha. In a candid and unfiltered conversation, she opened up about being married to the Maharashtra CM and how he is as a husband.
Amruta Fadnavis Talks About Her Husband, CM Devendra Fadnavis
Amruta Fadnavis is many things; she is driven, ambitious, a corporate woman, a singer and the wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis. On this episode of Sunday Brunch, she gave Kamiya a home tour of Varsha, the official residence of the state’s most powerful family. The duo relished a healthy and delicious meal of a variety of dishes, including Tofu Sprout Toast, Zucchini Ratatouille and even Hummus Avocado Chilli Toast.
As they enjoyed their meal, Kamiya asked Amruta about what it is to be married to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Amruta revealed that she met her husband in an arranged marriage set up. Over the 3-4 meetings, she realised that she had the autonomy to take her own decisions in the relationship, whether it’s regarding her career, philanthropy or personal life choices. The career-oriented woman liked having financial independence from a young age and living life on her own terms. The philosophies that even Devendra Fadnavis supported.

“Not Romantic But Supportive”
Later, Amruta even revealed how he is as a husband. “He is a people’s man. He is not romantic, but he is supportive,” she said. Amruta added that anytime she wanted to pursue something, her husband never questioned her decision or laid obstacles in her path. “I always say he is an absent husband. And, I don’t feel bad about it because I feel proud of the way he has worked for Maharashtra. So, I feel even if he isn’t there for us (family), it’s okay, we will take care.”
In fact, Amruta says their daughter, Divija, has hardly gone for vacations with her father. Last year, the family went to Vrindavan for a vacation, as Divija is a devotee of Lord Krishna, for just one and a half days. Amruta revealed that she understands her husband’s work pressure and commitments, so she keeps herself busy instead of demanding a lot of time from him.
