Not Pongal, Not Payasam, Not Cakes; This Is Upasana Konidela’s Favourite Dessert

Known not just as the beautiful wife of superstar Ram Charan, Upasana Konidela is also the founder of URLife and vice-chairperson of CSR at Apollo Hospitals. Known for her work toward encouraging women in India to prioritise their careers, she is an influential personality. On our latest episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met with her at her beautiful house in Hyderabad. During this episode, we not only got to know about her business ventures but also got a sneak peek into her relationship with Ram Charan, the food scenes at the Koindela family, and a lot more. Over some delicious Andhra-style dishes, we also got to know about her favourite dessert. Read on to know what it is.

‘This Or That’ With Upasana Konidela

For a fun segment during the episode, we decided to play a round of ‘This or That’ with Upasana, where we asked her to choose her preferred food items. When asked to choose between dosa and idli, she said, ‘hands down, dosa.’ She also chose tamarind rice over lemon rice. And when it was time to choose between filter coffee and black coffee, with a very tiny hint of guilt on her face, she picked the latter. Unlike her husband, she picked sambar over rasam, appams over pesarattu, and banana leaf over a regular thali.

When we asked her to choose between Sweet Pongal and Payasam, she picked neither. So we had to know what, if not these, her favourite dessert was. She revealed that she is not into cakes or such desserts at all, but what she truly loves are motichoor ladoo and rasmalai. As she was talking about it, her eyes truly lit up, hinting at her true love for these wholesome desserts.

She Gave A Love Test To Ram Charan

In this episode, we also found out about the special memory she shares with Hyderabad’s famous ice cream spot called ‘Famous Ice Cream.’ It’s special because it is a part of her and Ram Charan‘s love story. Upasana revealed that once she decided to test her then-boyfriend’s love and asked him if he would take her to that ice cream spot, knowing that as soon as they reached, he would be surrounded by fans all around. And guess what? Ram Charan truly passed the test and took her for an ice cream date. Yes, they were quickly surrounded by a lot of people, but it seems like it was totally worth the effort.
