Puran Poli Or Aamras, Vada Pav Or Dabeli, This Is What Paresh Rawal Chooses

On an exciting episode of Sunday Brunch, we met not just one but two legendary Bollywood actors: Shatrughan Sinha and Paresh Rawal. For a hearty Sunday Brunch, they sat down with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, at Shatrughan Sinha’s beautiful house in Mumbai, Ramayan. This episode wasn’t just about diving into their professional journeys but also about getting to know them better, their love stories, their food preferences, and a lot more. To make things fun, we also played an exciting game of ‘This or That’ with them. Read on to know how it went.

‘This Or That’ With Paresh Rawal

Both Shatrughan Sinha and Paresh Rawal promote yoga and have made it an essential part of their lives. Shatrughan Sinha even said that it is so beneficial and never too late in anyone’s life to start doing yoga. Finally, it was time to play a fun round of ‘This or That,’ where we gave them a series of dishes and they had to pick one from each pair.

Starting with Paresh Rawal, we first asked him to choose between Gujarati Thali and Pav Bhaji, and no surprises there, he went with the former. Then, we asked him to choose between Khandvi with Chai or Dhokla with Chaas, and without giving it much thought, he picked Khandvi with Chai. He also chose Khichdi over a lavish 5-star meal, expressing his love for home-cooked food.

When asked to choose between food on set or food from Prithvi Theatre, he gladly chose the latter. Choosing was a smooth ride for him until we asked him to choose between Puran Poli and Aamras. But after much thought, he decided that since Puran Poli is made with jaggery and not sugar and is also loaded with ghee, it seems to be the healthier of the two, and he went with Puran Poli. Finally, we asked him to choose between Dabeli and Vada Pav, and he chose Vada Pav, making it the first Maharashtrian dish he prefers over a Gujarati one.

Shatrughan Sinha Made Some Interesting Choices

Finally, it was Shatrughan Sinha’s turn to play the game with us, and we first asked him to choose between food cooked at home by Poonam ji, his wife, or a lavish 5-star buffet. Wasting no time, he quickly chose home-cooked food. Next, we asked him to choose between Litti Chokha and Sindhi Kadhi. He revealed that he has enjoyed Litti Chokha for many years of his life, but now he likes Sindhi Kadhi more.

The next choice was between Thekua and Sattu. He revealed that while he loves Thekua a lot, it is a seasonal thing that is only available during Chhath Puja, whereas Sattu, which he equally loves, is available whenever he wants.

Later in this episode, both Paresh Rawal and Shatrughan Sinha also revealed their first-ever paychecks. Watch the full episode on the Curly Tales YouTube channel to know all about it.
