Unlock 3: Centre Permits Gyms To Reopen, No Night Curfew, And More Guidelines

On July 29, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs issued guidelines for ‘Unlock 3’ of nationwide lockdown, allowing gyms and yoga centres to open up outside the containment zones from August 5. Schools, colleges and metro will continue to remain closed.  Night curfews will be lifted as well. India was in complete shut down since March 25,  to combat the spread of the fatal coronavirus. Since May, the country has been reopening in phases. Domestic flights had resumed operations in the country on May 25. Restaurants, hotels and religious centres had opened up on June 8, adhering to the guidelines of social distancing. Now, the Centre will allow gym and yoga centres to open doors too.

Unlock 3 Of Lockdown: Things That Will Be Allowed

As per the notification of Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, the guidelines of Unlock 3 will be in force up to August 31. In addition to the operation of restaurants, malls, religious places, hotels and local shops, here’s everything that the Centre has permitted now:

MHA also stated, “International air travel of passengers has been permitted in a limited manner under the Vande Bharat mission. Further opening-up will take place in a calibrated manner,”

Things That Will Be Prohibited

The authorities have advised citizens to download the Aarogya Setu app for ‘early identification of potential risks of infection’. Also, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women, elderly people above 65 years of age and children below 10 years should continue to stay at home, as per the guidelines. It has also stated that offices should follow Work from Home as much as possible. People have to pay fines for spitting in public. Wearing masks at public places will be compulsory.
