Construction is expected to start in March 2024 once the alternative analysis report (AAR) and detailed project report (DPR) are finished by December 2023, according to a recent announcement from RITES. The ambitious project is anticipated to be a huge benefit to the Tricity area, offering locals and commuters a quick and effective form of transport. According to a Financial Express story, it is also expected to spur economic growth and generate new jobs.

The DPR will offer a full project plan, including its cost, schedule, and technical requirements. While the AAR will evaluate the viability of several metro alignment possibilities. Construction can start if the government approves the DPR. RITES delivered its inception report for the Tricity Metro project at a conference.

The inception report is an essential stage in making sure that all parties involved are on the same page regarding the consultant’s strategy and timetable for carrying out the evaluation. According to the report, representatives from Punjab and Haryana also attended the conference.
