In a recent announcement, IndiGo stated that it is removing fuel charges from the tickets of both international as well as domestic flight routes. This means that airfares will drop significantly for IndiGo flights.
According to an article which was recently published by Times Now, IndiGo also announced that it will continue to adjust airfares to better respond to market conditions. It started levying the charge sometime in October 2023 in response to the spike in prices of ATF.
ATF stands for Aviation Turbine Fuel. To maintain service standards and quality, a fuel charge was levied. However, there has recently been a reduction in the prices of ATF which prompted IndiGo to scrap the fuel charge from both international and domestic flight routes.
