Chef Ranveer Brar graced us with his magnanimous presence at Shifuku by Curly Tales in Mumbai. The chef, actor, poet and TV personality met our Editor-in-Chief for a Sunday Brunch where he taught her how to make sushi from scratch. Apart from cooking, the duo spent time talking about Ranveer’s illustrious career in the food industry and his recent foray into acting. For Ranveer Brar, acting is an escape from being Ranveer.
Ranveer Brar Reveals Acting Helped Him To Escape From Being Ranveer
While chatting with Kamiya Jani, Ranveer Brar said he thoroughly enjoyed himself while acting. “Mazaa aaya acting karke?” asked Kamiya. “Bahut mazaa aaya! (I enjoyed a lot ” he said. When she prodded him if he would like to act more, he replied in the affirmative. “For me it was a way to escape from being Ranveer. Kyunki ek time baad aapko Ranveer hone ka load bahut zyaada ho jaata hai life mein (After a point of time, there is a lot of responsibility in being Ranveer.”
So, acting gave Ranveer the ability to be whoever he wanted to be. He said when one becomes a character and starts thinking like the character, then it opens a lot of windows in one’s mind, which he can’t do as Ranveer. On a daily basis he says he is “stuck with Ranveer”.
“It (acting) helped me grow as a chef. It helped me grow as a human being,” says Ranveer Brar.

He Spoke About His Parenting Style
When it comes to raising his son in a world rife with technology and gadgets which are often known for distraction, the chef believes it’s best to trust kids and let them be. And know that they will pick up the values eventually. He doesn’t like to force his beliefs on his children and prefers to give them space to figure it out.
