Ranveer Brar Understood The Idea Of Cooking At Gurudwaras
On the way to Moonstone Hammock, a glamping cottage in Alibaug, we talked about Ranveer’s journey to the world of culinary arts. The chef revealed that every Sunday, he used to go to Gurudwara with his grandfather. As a kid, he detested this ritual because he had to skip watching the Ramayana on television.
He recalled that his friends chatted about the events that unfolded on the Ramayana. While he didn’t have any stories to share or talk about as he was at the spiritual shrine. There, Ranveer Brar closely watched devotees and culinarians prepare langar, a communal meal served in Gurudwara. He revealed, “That is when I first understood this idea of cooking.”
Now, he is the one who shares captivating stories about the culinary arts and its science! The world has a unique way of bringing things together, isn’t it?
What Was The First Dish Prepared By Him?
He added that the first dish he ever cooked was meethe chawal or sweet rice. On hearing this, Kamiya stated that his family might be happy to find out that Ranveer was whipping up delish meethe chawal. He told us, “My dad called me a langari, the one who cooks langar!”
The celebrity chef highlighted how his academically inclined family wasn’t open to the idea of cooking as a profession.
