According to an article which was recently published by NativePlanet, the terminal is almost ready to open. If reports are to go by, it is being constructed at a cost of ₹430 crores. It will have facilities like those of the airport and will transform the experience of passengers.
It will have six booking counters so that even when the crowds are large, booking of tickets can happen seamlessly. In addition to this, it will have four high-level platforms and massive concourse areas. Furthermore, the existing five platforms will be extended so that they can accommodate full-length trains.
To facilitate seamless movement between platforms, the terminal will have two FOBs. One will be 12 metres wide and the other will be six metres wide.
Other Important Details About This Particular Rail Terminal
In order to ensure optimal mobility, all nine platforms will be equipped with escalators as well as elevators. What is more, for the trains beginning their journey from the Cherlapalli Rail Terminal, there will be coach maintenance facilities.
The architectural design of this new terminal is also modern and will provide passengers with visual and aesthetic pleasure. It also has separate waiting areas for men and women. Upper-class travellers will also get a separate waiting area.
In addition to all this, there will also be an executive lounge for those who seek a more luxe experience.
