Hong Kong International Airport’s Cherry Blossom Garden is now open for visitors and is providing an entrancing floral experience. With more than 100 cherry blossom trees and the newly renovated Cherry Blossom Bay, the garden has become the destination to visit this spring. Either in transit through the airport or booking a special holiday, tourists are now able to experience the magnificence of these exquisite pale pink flowers.
Cherry Blossom Bay: A Peaceful Retreat
One of the biggest additions to the garden is the recently expanded Cherry Blossom Bay, which offers a serene atmosphere near the water. There are spacious lounge sofas in the area, where one can recline and enjoy the excellent waterfront views.
The soft bay wind, accompanied by the pale pink colour of the blooming cherry blossoms, is a soothing and invigorating experience. Whether passengers have a long layover or just a few minutes to spare, the bay is a peaceful refuge from the otherwise hectic airport.
A Scenic Jewel For Nature Enthusiasts
The Cherry Blossom Garden offers stunning sights of the blooming blossoms and is therefore a peaceful sanctuary among the airport’s mayhem. The cherry blossom garden’s top attraction is the ‘Night Sakura’, whereby the garden glows with coloured lights from 5 p.m. onwards to enable visitors to behold the splendour of cherry blossoms under the radiant night sky.
In order to extend the duration of blooming, two batches of cherry trees were planted. The first batch is already entirely blooming, and the second is expected to bloom in mid-to-late March.
Enhancing the experience, the visitors can stroll through the garden’s walking trails. These walking trails provide several angles of the flowers, making it a perfect place for photographs. The mixture of dainty flowers and the skyline of Hong Kong in the background creates a beautiful scene that will be pleasing to nature lovers and photographers alike.
How To Get To The Cherry Blossom Garden
Cherry Blossom Garden is open on a daily basis from 8 AM to 8 PM (Sunday through Thursday) and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It is also accessible via MTR or bus from Tung Chung with clear guidance signs to the garden. The airport visitors may also use the walkways to the garden area specifically provided.
