According to several reports, a 16-year-old girl felt sick while flight IA-473 was on its way to Guangzhou in China. With 100 passengers and 15 cabin crew members onboard, the flight diverted and landed in Kolkata. The alarming health crisis of the Iraqi teen passenger took place on Wednesday. The frightening occurrence was reported only about 30 minutes before the aircraft’s scheduled time to reach Guangzhou. Seeing the girl feeling unwell, the Iraqi Airways Baghdad-Guangzhou flight was diverted for an emergency landing.
Unfortunately, the teen girl, Dekan Sameer Ahmed, lost her life. Right after landing in Kolkata, the Airport Health Organisation’s medical team rushed for the girl. The health officer did not find any pulse or heartbeat, according to a report by The New Indian Express.
Seeing her in critical condition, she was rushed to the nearest hospital. An ambulance from the Airports Authority of India took her to the private hospital. Sadly, she was declared “brought dead”.
Later, The Flight Took Off On Thursday
Following the devastating incident, the teen girl’s co-passengers completed all the official formalities. After all these events, they offloaded the flight. The aircraft took off again to travel to Guangzhou in China. It was around 1:18 AM on Thursday when the Iraqi Airways flight departed from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.
