Heavy rainfall and extreme weather conditions in China have resulted in flash floods in the northern and southwest regions of the country. Torrential rains in China have brought the country to a standstill. From flooding city streets to overflowing dams, the extreme weather conditions have significantly affected the lives of the people. Keeping all this in mind, China has issued travel warnings across the country.
Several flights in the northern and southwest regions of China have been cancelled, popular tourist destinations have been blocked, and various tourist spots in the cities have been shut down. As per a Hindustan Times report, the northern metropolis of Zhengzhou ordered the closure of schools and tourist spots last week.

Typhoon Gaemi has caused heavy rainfall and several flight cancellations in China. In fact, the typhoon even impacted the northern Philippines and Taiwan, before moving toward China. Now, the tropical storm Prapiroon is expected to hit the border between China and Vietnam soon.

After the flash flood that caused 26 casualties in China over the last week, two tropical storms are expected to hit the nation this week. The storms are expected to hit China’s southernmost island province of Hainan. As per a Reuters report, this will be the second tropical cyclone to hit China this year. The maximum wind speed near its centre will be 110 kph. There are also predictions of torrential rains in Hainan and along the coast of Guangdong, one of China’s most populous provinces.

Videos and photos of flooded city streets in China are circulating online. You can see heavy rainfall leading to flood-like conditions with water entering people’s homes and workplaces. Several videos on X (formerly Twitter) show water entering inside buses and people driving through heavily waterlogged streets.
