While chocolate has traditionally been associated with happiness, wealth, and good times, good handmade chocolate is made using a variety of scientific methods. Although the majority of us occasionally indulge ourselves in something chocolate-y, very few of us are aware of the natural process involved in producing chocolate and what goes into creating an artisanal chocolate bar. To celebrate the journey of Indian cacao at India’s biggest craft chocolate festival in Bangalore.
India’s Biggest Craft Chocolate Festival Is Happening In Bangalore
The “Indian Cacao & Craft Chocolate Festival” is the place to go if you want to sample some of the most amazing craft chocolate made in India and discover more about how cacao evolved from a common bean to a high-end treat. This is India’s first and largest craft chocolate festival, organised by the craft chocolate community. Over two days, some of the best chocolatiers, cacao growers, industry professionals, and aficionados will be together under one roof, alongside some of the best craft chocolate manufacturers.
Patricia Cosma, a bean-to-bar chocolate expert and consultant from Romania, and Ketaki Churi, a chocolatier, maker, and product developer from Mumbai, are the minds behind the festival. Patricia, who began her adventure into the world of chocolate in 2016, feels that India has enormous potential when it comes to chocolate—possibly even more than Europe. She discovered the exceptional quality of cacao in India as she continued to visit cacao farms around South India and sample chocolates from around the globe.
She discovered that there is insufficient understanding of how to process high-quality cacao beans in India after researching the process of creating chocolate, post-harvesting methods, and cacao farming. The event, which aims to raise awareness of handmade chocolate and establish a community where enthusiasts can collaborate, will include the best of the best in the chocolate industry, including both individual and brand-name chocolate manufacturers.
