Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, sat down with the Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mohan Yadav. At his beautiful residence in Bhopal, he treated Kamiya to some regional dishes of Bhopal like Poha-Jalebi, Ragi Balushahi and more. The CM opened up about his early life, family, go-to food items and more. During the conversation, we also learnt that the CM’s family does not reside with him at his place in Bhopal. Read on to know the reason.

Mohan Yadav’s Family Does Not Stay With Him

CM Mohan Yadav’s residence is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, reflecting his local origin. With a beautiful lake-view, open garden and spacious rooms, his home even features a cow shed (Gau Shala), where he personally looks after the cows. He stays connected to his regional roots and leans towards spiritualism. In tune with taking care of the cows, he aims to boost dairy production in Madhya Pradesh and also support various sectors like healthcare, the film industry, and more for the state’s overall development. When Kamiya asked why his family doesn’t stay with him, he replied, “Mere liye ye saubhagya ki baat hai aur is mamle mein mai thoda bohot apne aap pe bhi control rakhta hu.” He added, “Main agar mukhyamantri bana hu to mukhyamantri niwaas me rehne ke liye adhikar mere khud ka hai.” His children live in Ujjain, while one of them stays in a hostel for studies.

Mohan Yadav has always been taught since childhood to earn and live on his own, and he holds the same vision for his kids. He used to run a restaurant from the age of 16 while completing his studies and managing his career side by side. He said, “Jab wo apne life me is mukaam par pohchenge tab unhe iski aadat honi chahiye aur aaj wo iska haqdaar nahi hai, ki wo iska laabh uthayein.” His kids also listen to him and agree not to stay at his place, thereby paving their own path and journey without relying on the amenities or special treatment at the CM’s residence.
