Coldplay is arguably one of the biggest bands on the planet. They are currently doing the longest Asian stopover they’ve done in Singapore. The band is supposed to perform there for six consecutive nights at the biggest venue in the country, the National Stadium. The concerts will be held till January 31 and they began on January 23. Here are some of the most important highlights from the first day of the Coldplay concert in Singapore.

Coldplay In Singapore: Touching Highlights From The Show

According to an article which was recently published by The Straits Times, a whopping 52,000 people attended the concert. One of the highlights of the show was the interactive LED bands that the audience members were given.

They changed colours as per the mood and tempo of the song and even flickered with the beat. The large number of people present made the spectacle even more awe-inspiring to witness. Additionally, there were also confetti and light shows on the stage which added to the visuality of it.

There was a brief hitch when Chris Martin attempted to perform Yellow on a piano but it quickly became obvious that it was faulty. Martin wasted no time in changing courses and asked the bassist, Jonny Buckland, to accompany the song instead. Despite the hitch, the band chugged along with gusto!

A Few Other Memorable Moments From The Concert To Know

As per The Strait Times article, there was even a point in the concert where it features singing and dancing muppets where the band wore alien-like masks! Talk about goofing it up!

But the major highlight of the show was when Martin pulled up a man and a woman from the audience who was holding a placard which requested the band to sing their famous ‘Everglow’ for their recently deceased father.
