Kuwait just launched the English-language exit permit feature on the Sahel App for the digital exit permit system. This exit permit system is for streamlining labour mobility. Not to mention, it is also going to reinforce the state oversight of private sector expatriate workers. With the exit system coming into effect from July 1, here’s all you need to know.
Kuwait Launches English-Language Version Of Digital Exit Permit System
Kuwait has now launched the English-language version of the digital exit permit system. This comes at a time when expats who are employed under Article 18 Visas, and must be working with the private sector, will be required to obtain their employer-approved exit permit. They must do this before travelling abroad, so that the state has oversight of workers. This is a mandatory process for expat workers, and it must be completed through the Sahel App.
How To Apply For This Permit?
If a person wishes to get a permit, they must log into the Sahel App. So, while navigating through the services section, they must click on the Public Authority of Manpower. After finding the exit permit option under the Expat Workers Services, they must provide their input. This includes the intended departure and return dates while also submitting the request for employer approval. This application, however, must be submitted not earlier than seven days before and latest by 24 hours before the intended departure.

Required For Travelling Abroad
As revealed in a report by the Gulf News, the initiative is a part of a digital transformation strategy that aims to increase transparency while also simplifying administrative procedures. With the launch of the English-language interface makes the service a lot more accessible for the diverse expat population in the country.
So, if you are someone who is working in Kuwait, you might want to keep up with this development, if you also wish to travel from July 1 onwards.
