Commute To Bengaluru City From Kempegowda Airport Terminal 2 Easily As BMTC Extends Services

BMTC

BMTC has started running buses out of Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport, which was only recently made operational. One of the most popular options for getting to and from the airport is the BMTC’s Vayu Vajra service, which has been continued into the new terminal. This new service will benefit many people, as over 700 passengers commute to the city from the airport daily.

BMTC Extends Services To  Kempegowda Airport Terminal 2

For the last two months, BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) has been running trials to start services up to Terminal 2. It received a very good response from the public, and hence it was finally converted into a regular service.

The bus fare will be around ₹230 -₹260, which is the same for both terminals. If people opt for cabs from Kempegowda International Airport to Bengaluru city, it sometimes costs them ₹1000.

The citizens were overjoyed with the extension of this service, as connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2 has always been a huge question. Some residents requested that the service add more stops on the route, while others requested that the terminal points be extended on different routes.

Citizens Welcomed This New Service

According to a senior BMTC official, on average, 6,000–7,000 passengers travel daily from the airport to the city, and 5,000–6,000 passengers travel daily in the other direction. At present, they are moving people to T2 using two separate approaches.

They will either be driven up to T2 or, if buses are finishing at T2, they will be driven there by a bus from here. Right now, no additional fare is being charged for it.

When asked if the new terminal had a bus bay, he responded that there was some room set aside for buses. Some others, however, requested that the bus corporation offer shuttle services from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 rather than running separate buses from Terminal 2 to various locations in Bengaluru.
