CR: Aman Lodge To Matheran Train Service Ferries 1,13,887 Passengers & Generates ₹82.88 Lakh Revenue

Have you ever been to Matheran? It is one of the most famous tourist spots near Mumbai. People in Mumbai call it their favourite getaway spot, as this hill station is just a train ride away for them. Moreover, the shuttle train service from Aman Lodge to Matheran by Central Railways has made the hill station even more popular and easily accessible. It is noted that the service has generated very good revenue in the last 3 months.

Aman Lodge To Matheran Train Service Revenue Generation

With its passenger shuttle services between Aman Lodge and Matheran, the Central Railway has been able to make over ₹82.88 lakh in revenue in just three months through ticket sales and package delivery.

The Central Railway reports that between Aman Lodge and Matheran, a well-known hill station that is one of the most popular tourist destinations near Mumbai, and back, from June to August this year, it ferried 1,13,887 passengers and 16,749 packages.

This has brought in a total of ₹82.88 lakh in revenue, which includes ₹81.79 lakh in ticket sales and ₹1,08,693 in parcel sales, respectively.

The passenger shuttle services between Aman Lodge and Matheran have been crucial in making the hill station a renowned tourist destination.

Meanwhile, Toy Train Services See A Drop

In contrast to the 1,31,481 tourists who used the service between March and May, the number of people riding the toy train at Matheran decreased between June and August, according to data available with the Central Railway (CR).

According to Subhash Gupta, president of Rail Yatri Parishad, the poor quality of trains run by CR is one of the causes of the low turnout. There have been track problems in the past, and when it rains, the CR suspends these toy train services, which is a big concern for tourists.

The Neral-Matheran toy railway has been around for more than a century. In the past, there were 43,827 tourists per month. According to a CR official, they are working to make sure that tourists have a comfortable trip.
