1. Emirates Literature Festival Begins In Dubai

Emirates Literature Fest has finally begun, and this is the 17th edition of the literature festival. Featuring a diverse line-up of writers, poets, and speakers, the world of literature awaits people at Expo City Dubai. In fact, there are multiple workshops also happening at the literature festival that you would want to know.

2. Nad Al Sheba Mall To Open In April

Nad Al Sheba Mall is one of the most awaited openings of 2025 and it’s nearly here. Yes, Dubai Holding Asset Management recently announced that this mixed-use retail destination is all set to open in April 2025. Spread across 500,000 sq. ft Nad Al Sheba Mall will feature 100 carefully curated stores. These will be across fitness, commerce, entertainment, retail, and even F&B.

3. DXB 92.3 Million Guests In 2024

Recently, Dubai International Airport recorded 92.3 million guests in 2024. As revealed by the airport, this makes it the world’s number one airport for international traffic. A recognition that has been recorded to the airport for 10 years in a row, it’s worth mentioning that over the decade, DXB welcomed more than 700 million guests. Not to mention, these were on 3.3 million flights.

4. Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamonds In The Desert Premiers Globally In March

Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamonds In The Desert is expected to premiere globally on March 19. It captures the captivating live performance of Hans Zimmer’s most iconic compositions. In fact, his first entertainment special, the production in Dubai also marks the first time the composer has officially collaborated with a destination. This is inspired by his time, travelling the city, a musical tribute to Dubai.

5. Wadi AlFann Hosts James Turrell

Wadi AlFann hosted James Turrell as a part of the AlUla Arts Festival 2025. He is a renowned international artist and during the pre-opening programme, and he was in attendance. The participation as revealed in the report by SPA includes a special exhibition in the AlJadidah Arts District. It offers a comprehensive vision of the artistic project that he will create in Wadi AlFann.

6. Shaaban Moon Sighted In The UAE

Astronomers in the UAE on Thursday, January 30, got a glimpse of the Shaaban moon. This is a big deal as the next Islamic month, which is the holy month of Ramadan will now begin on January 31, Friday. The UAE’s International Astronomy Centre announced the sighting of the crescent for the new month, which falls just before the month of Ramadan

7. First Emirati Woman Competes In Speed Boat Competition

Alya Abdul Salam has become the first Emirati woman to compete in speed boat racing. Yes, as a part of the UAE National Team, the 22-year-old secured an international driving license that was needed to practise the sport. In fact, she now participates in the Formula 4 boat races across various championships.

8. Reckless Delivery Riders Fined In Ajman

Ajman Police is cracking down on reckless delivery riders. Yes, they are liable to pay up to AED2000 fine if they are found driving recklessly. The strict penalties are being enforced against riders violating road safety laws. This is being done as there is an increase in violations among delivery cyclists.

9. Visitors At Manufacturing Of Kaaba Kiswa And The Revelation Of Exhibition

As revealed by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the third batch of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Umrah and Visitation, visited the King Abdulaziz Complex. Yes, they visited the complex to learn about the stages of manufacturing, the Kiswa and the story of revelation. This was done through innovative display techniques at the manufacturing of the Kaaba Kiswa and the story of the revelation exhibition in the Hira Cultural District in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

10. Air Arabia Begins Flight To Addis Ababa In Ethiopia

As revealed by Sharjah Airport, flights for Addis Ababa in Ethiopia were inaugurated recently. With three weekly flights between Sharjah Airport and Bole Addis Ababa International Airport, this will be serviced by Air Arabia. As it’s worth mentioning that this is a strategic step in enhancing Sharjah’s network of destinations and even strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
