1. Bangalore Metro Offers ₹50 Paper Tickets For World Cup Fans

Namma Metro in Bangalore is making special arrangements for World Cup fans and that’s just the update fans are waiting for. Since the metro is the most convenient and budget-friendly mode of transport to reach Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) offers special ‘paper tickets’ for cricket fans.

Priced at just ₹50 for five days where the World Cup matches will take place. BMRCL encouraged metro-goers to purchase tickets on their WhatsApp chatbot to prevent overcrowding at ticket counters. On the day of the match, passengers can also get a discount of 5%  on the QR code tickets, sold at normal rates, which will be valid for the entire day.

2. BMTC To Operate Additional Buses For World Cup

On account of the World Cup held at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will operate additional buses. Running from October 20, 26 and November 4, 9 and 12, these buses will run to 11 major destinations from Chinnaswamy Stadium. Some of the locations include Electronic City via Hosur Road, Yelahanka 5th stage via Hebbal, Kengeri KHB quarters via MCTC and Sarjapura via Agara.

3. Namma Metro Turns 13; Ridership To Increase To 8.5 Lakh Per Day

After the success of the recently inaugurated Purple Line, which is already witnessing overcrowding, Namma Metro turned 13. Bangalore’s lifeline for transportation, Namma Metro covers an overall network of 73.81km and its ridership is touted to increase from the current 7.5 lakhs to 8.5 lakhs per day. The Bangalore Metro’s overall ridership since its opening stands at a whopping 94 crore.

4. Bangalorean Surprisingly Gets Rental Flat In One Day

In a totally surprising even anti-Peak Bangalore moment, an X user, Saumil shared a screenshot of a person who got a rental flat in one day. The person shared on Grapevine how they landed in Bangalore on Thursday. Then, went apartment hunting with a broker in Koramangala. By Saturday the place was fixed and the person shifted to the new flat on Sunday. Now, isn’t this totally surprising?

5. Woman Works On Laptop While Riding Pillion

Yet another Peak Bangalore moment left Netizens amused when @indianbikes shared a video on Reddit of a woman working on her laptop while riding a pillion on a scooter. It was a “tell me you are in Bangalore without telling me you are in Bangalore” kind of moment. While the scooter gained speed, she nonchalantly was seen busy completing her work for the day. Redditors had quite a chuckle witnessing this unusual moment that could possibly only happen in Bangalore, which is quite an update.
