Noida just got a whole lot more exciting with the opening of one8 Commune, Virat Kohli’s celebrated restaurant and lounge, now in its 11th outpost. If you’ve been waiting for a buzzing, high-energy space that also offers great food, lively ambiance, and impeccable design, this is it. I decided to visit on a Saturday night, and let me tell you—it was everything I expected and more. Read on to learn all about my experience there!
Inside Virat Kohli’s Newest one8 Commune In Noida
The atmosphere at the newly opened one8 Commune strikes the perfect balance between upscale yet welcoming, making it ideal for a cosy family dinner, a fun night out with friends, or even a special date night. Designed by Sanjana Singh of SAAZ Design, the interiors are an aesthetic dream with boho-chic elements exuding modern luxury. The standout macramé light installation, the rock wall with Virat Kohli’s autograph, and the variety of seating zones, from intimate nooks to high-energy bar spaces, all create an immersive dining experience.
But let’s get to the real highlight—the food and drinks.
Small Plates:
- Tartare Topped with Avocado
This dish is the ultimate bar snack—a crispy, creamy, and spicy delight. With crispy corn, Japanese mayo, sriracha, tobanjan, and ponzu sauce, the layers of texture and flavours worked beautifully, making it an instant favourite.
- Mushroom Googly Dim Dum
This one came highly recommended—and it did not disappoint. The mix of earthy mushrooms, indulgent cream cheese, and the luxurious touch of truffle oil created a dumpling that was nothing short of perfection. The textures were spot-on, making each bite incredibly satisfying.
- Signature Black Chicken
It was a juicy, well-marinated chicken dish that exceeded expectations. The bold black sesame flavours, inspired by Assamese cuisine, really shined through, adding a nutty depth to the tender chicken. Definitely a must-try!
- Lime Chilli Pickled Prawns
The prawns covered in a garlicky and spicy marinade were fresh, plump, and bursting with tangy, spicy flavours. The raw mango paste added a zesty kick that made them absolutely irresistible.
- Sindhi Dal Pakwan
A true showstopper! The crunchy, flaky pakwan was topped with hearty chana dal, finished with onions, chillies, achaar, and chutney—every bite was a burst of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavours. Hands down, the best dish of the night!
Mains:
- Signature Laksa
I went with the vegetarian version, and it was a warm, comforting bowl of goodness. The coconut broth was rich yet balanced, packed with wholesome veggies and just the right hint of tang. It also comes in chicken and prawn variants that I look forward to trying next time.
- Mutton Rogan Josh
While the mutton was cooked beautifully—tender and juicy—the gravy lacked salt, which slightly took away from the overall flavour. However, paired with hot, crispy tandoori roti, it still made for a satisfying dish.
Cocktails:
- Mary Rockett’s Paloma
Easily the best cocktail of the night! It was refreshing, citrusy, and smooth—a perfectly balanced tequila cocktail that I’d order again in a heartbeat.
- Mango Picante
I had high expectations, but this one fell a little flat. The mango flavour was too subtle, and the jalapeño lacked the punch that makes a good picante stand out. Delhi NCR has some great Picantes, and I’ve definitely had better.
- Victoria Blossom
A crowd favourite for a reason! Floral, light, and refreshing, this was a beautifully balanced drink—great for those who enjoy subtle yet elegant flavours.
- Pan Gin Ale
This was a standout creation, with each ingredient shining through. The paan infusion added a unique depth, while the black cardamom brought in warm, aromatic notes.
- Shore Leave
For whisky lovers, this was a well-crafted, complex cocktail. The hints of seaweed and citrus added an unexpected but pleasant twist.
Would I Go Again?
Absolutely! one8 Commune Noida is a game-changer for the city’s dining and nightlife scene. The vibe is electric, the food is well thought out, and the cocktails are worth exploring. While there were a couple of minor misses (like the seasoning in the Rogan Josh and the underwhelming Mango Picante), the overall experience was fantastic. Whether you’re in for a casual meal, a date night, or a fun evening with friends, one8 Commune is a spot you’ll want to return to.
Noida, consider your nightlife officially levelled up!
