In a deeply unfortunate incident, two young children died, and their parents were hospitalised after allegedly consuming dosa made at home using ready-made batter. The family had purchased the batter from a local shop and reportedly fell ill after eating it. The shocking incident took place in the Chandkheda area of Ahmedabad, and here’s all you need to know about it.

Ready-Made Dosa Batter Turns Fatal For Ahmedabad Family?

According to Times Now, two children, aged around three months and four years, died after consuming dosas prepared at home using ready-made batter. The report states that the children fell seriously ill soon after eating, and their condition deteriorated rapidly. Despite efforts, they could not be saved.

Their parents also experienced symptoms of food poisoning and are currently admitted to a hospital for treatment. The family had purchased the dosa batter from a local dairy. After consuming the dosas made from the ready-made batter, all members of the family reportedly suffered from severe vomiting and diarrhoea, indicative of food poisoning.

As per the family of the victims, they began feeling unwell shortly after eating the dosas made from the store-bought batter. They have alleged that the food may have been contaminated or unsafe. The incident has left the family in shock and mourning.

Here’s What We Know So Far

According to The Times of India, while the family has blamed the ready-made dosa batter, Ahmedabad Police are probing all angles in the case, particularly as the three-month-old infant is unlikely to have consumed solid food. Authorities are currently awaiting the viscera report of the children to determine the exact cause of death.

As per family members, the father had purchased around 3 kg of dosa batter from a dairy on IOC Road in Chandkheda on April 1. The family of four consumed dosas that night but began feeling unwell the following day. They reportedly experienced severe vomiting and discomfort, triggering panic.

The dairy owner has denied all allegations and any wrongdoing. He stated that he sold approximately 100–125 kg of batter that day and has received no complaints from other customers.
