‘Feel The Jail’ For 24 Hrs For ₹2,000
According to The Economic Times, the newly launched prison-themed attraction, the Telangana Prisons Museum, offers a unique programme called “Jail Anubhavam,” or the “Feel the Jail” experience. This initiative allows citizens to voluntarily spend 12 or 24 hours living under simulated prison conditions.
Located in Chanchalguda, Hyderabad, the museum offers visitors an immersive stay that includes jail-style meals, basic prison accommodation, strict routines, and correctional discipline.
The initiative was inaugurated on Tuesday by Shiv Pratap Shukla at the State Institute of Correctional Administration (SICA). Since its launch, the experience has generated significant buzz online, with many people expressing interest in paying ₹2,000 to get a taste of real prison life.

The ‘Feel the Jail’ experience allows you to sign up for a structured, prison-like stay through paid bookings. According to Soumya Mishra, Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, the initiative is not solely meant for entertainment but is also educational and awareness-driven.
Authorities aim to help people better understand prison systems, lawful conduct, social responsibility, and inmate rehabilitation. They also hope to foster empathy and awareness around correctional systems, rather than sensationalising prison life.
