The Dalai Lama Receives His First Grammy Award
The Grammy Awards 2026 were held in Los Angeles this year. The evening was quite interesting. There were so many highlights and unexpected wins that deserve attention. But let’s start with the most significant moment. According to India Today, Tibet’s spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, received his first-ever Grammy Award. His spoken-word album, Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, was recognised in the category of Best Audiobook, Narration and Storytelling Recording at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
Indian composer Ricky Kej stole the spotlight at music’s biggest night. Ricky is a three-time Grammy winner and four-time nominee. He represented Indian culture through his striking outfit. He wore a black achkan with a beautifully hand-embroidered Asiatic lion motif. The best part? According to India.com, he paired the achkan with a gold dhoti. He also wore earrings gifted to him by a Banjara artist from Rajasthan.

K-Pop Made History At Music’s Biggest Night In 2026
According to a report by The Hindu, “Golden” from K-Pop Demon Hunters won ‘Song Written for Visual Media.’ This marked the first time a K-pop act took home a Grammy Award. Bad Bunny also created history at the 68th Grammys. He became the first-ever artist to win Album of the Year for a non-English language album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
American rapper Kendrick Lamar broke records this year. He became the most awarded hip-hop artist of all time, dethroning Jay-Z. His album GNX won Best Rap Album of the Year, along with other accolades. Other notable winners included Olivia Dean, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Lola Young and more.
Apart from the wins, the food at Grammy 2026 was equally exciting. The menu focused on small plates such as Dirty Martini Fries, Lime-Salted Popcorn and more. There were exclusive cocktails across the venue. A 272 kg block of New Mexico cheese was carved to resemble piano keys, trumpets and other musical elements.
