Emirates is a Dubai-based airline that’s known for its stellar services. Featuring premium economy seats that have gained quite a bit of attention amongst flyers, this class of cabin has become quite a favourite amongst guests. Recently Emirates held a fantastic event at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport wherein they unveiled their premium economy service services that will be introduced on the routes to Mumbai and Bangalore from October onwards. Here’s all the juicy deets you need to know about it.

Emirates Unveils Premium Economy Seats At Mumbai Event

Emirates is known for offering exclusive service for flyers and its recently newly retrofitted A380 premium economy seats are certainly turning heads. Yes, it so happens that in an event held at the Adani Lounge, on October 19, Curly Tales got an exclusive sneak peek of the new cabin seats. The lounge at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport saw the event take off in full swing as the aircraft arrived at the airport. Not to mention, during the event, the brand-new premium economy cabins were revealed for the select attendees, which were nothing short of fantastic. As such, Curly Tales India and Middle East’s Managing Editor Rachna Srivastava was one of the first ones to experience it at a closed event at CSMIA, Mumbai.

What Are The Highlights Of These Seats?

A fantastic highlight about this class of cabin happens to be the fact that it’s a great mix between business class and economy class. As a result, with the addition of premium economy seats, flyers will now have choices of classes! It’s worth mentioning that these plush seats have been designed by Mercedes Benz and feature an extended leg space and leg rest. Additionally, there’s an armrest with a dining tray inside, which helps one truly relish the elevated food and drink offerings. Did you know there’s a lot more privacy in this class?

Well, that’s because they curtain it off and there are three cabin crew members who will take care of passengers! Moreover, windows have electric blinds, which will ensure you can catch up on some much-needed sleep! Coming to food, the spread will include a diverse selection of regional menus. Yes, these will feature an array of local flavours and an extensive beverage selection for Premium Economy customers.

It’s worth mentioning that the premium economy service will begin on the routes to and from Mumbai on October 29, which is Sunday and Bangalore on October 30, Monday. So, travellers who will be flying on this route will get to take in the luxury of this class, while basking in the glory of the refreshed interior.

These Seats Are A Mix Of Economy & Business Class!

This aircraft is adored by customers for its exquisite features, which include everything from an Onboard Lounge to a First-Class Shower Spa. Not to mention, guests can also enjoy award-winning in-flight entertainment on Ice. As it features over 5,000 channels of on-demand entertainment, it’s certainly a treat to watch on the industry’s largest screens across the cabins. So, you might want to check out their exciting library of the Harry Potter series! As it happens, the Indian audience has an extensive collection of movies, TV shows, and albums in India’s regional languages, including Hindi, Marathi and Kannada.

Seats Have Been Laid Out In 2-4-2 Configuration

Premium economy has already been rolled out to several destinations globally. These include several points in the USA, including New York JFK and San Francisco, in addition to London Heathrow, Melbourne, Singapore, and even Auckland, to a select few. So, with the addition of Mumbai, it will become the 10th city and Bangalore will be the 11th one. Yes, and it features 56 plush cream leather seats, located at the front of the main deck, and has been laid out in a 2-4-2 configuration. Indian passengers, who are travelling between Dubai and Mumbai can book Emirates’ Premium Economy seats on flights EK500/501, while those flying between Dubai and Bengaluru can secure their seats on flights EK568/569.
