When singer Zaeden married his longtime love, Nina Shah, it was a fairytale coming to life against the dreamy backdrop of Goa. Under a canopy of palm trees, with the Arabian Sea whispering in the background, the couple exchanged vows in both Hindu and Christian rituals—what felt like a scene from a modern-day fairy tale! At the stunning Seré Resort in Goa, the wedding gathered friends, family, and a select guest list to celebrate love, laughter, and the allure of a perfect beach wedding.
The release of Sahil Sharma, known by his stage name Zaeden and Nina Shah’s wedding images set fans abuzz; the fervour was understandable. Nina captured everyone’s attention in a stunning pearl-embellished blouse paired with a white and beige fishtail lehenga by designer Tarun Tahiliani. She completed her ensemble with a sheer, sequined veil that added an elegant touch. Zaeden perfectly complemented her look in a matching sherwani adorned with a kamarbandh, radiating sophistication and timeless style.
In an intimate ceremony held over the weekend in Goa, what was the actual wedding like?
Inside Zaeden-Nina’s Wedding Setting
Goa has long been the choice of heart-led celebrations—a place where the languid waves meet lush tropical landscapes, and the air itself feels like an invitation to unwind.
“Zaeden & Nina wanted an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family. They wanted a sense of tranquillity, calmness and comfort with services that make them feel at home,” Sarthak Sidana, Director of Seré Resort, Goa says. The resort, located on Goa’s quieter coast, perfectly echoed the couple’s wish for a celebration rooted in simplicity yet elevated in every detail. It’s a boutique haven blending Goa’s rustic charm with understated luxury.
From the vibrant haldi and mehendi ceremonies to the lively sangeet and a romantic jaimala, the couple crafted a celebration rooted in simplicity yet elevated in every detail. “Nina opted for a tropical jungle theme for her sangeet as it complimented very well with the existing landscaping of the resort. For their mehendi and haldi, the set-up was very colourful with lots of pastels. The decor and colour palettes were also decided, keeping in mind a balanced aesthetic,” Sarthak shares more. Guests were swept into a celebration that blended traditional Indian rituals with contemporary elegance.
Nestled in a lush, green expanse, Seré Resort transformed its poolside lounge into an electric, high-energy sangeet venue. By morning, the resort’s garden and terrace, framed by swaying palms and a cool breeze, hosted a vibrant, sun-drenched haldi, setting a beautifully intimate tone for the festivities. The highlight of the wedding, of course, was the jaimala ceremony, set up on one of the floating decks of the waterbody. “The overwater decks became the perfect stage for the jaimala and spirited dance performances. There were impromptu performances from Anuv Jain and Armaan Malik enchanting the crowd.”
The wedding setting looked almost dreamlike; the ambience was one of quiet elegance, with waves lapping at the shore.
A Feast Of Global Flavours
The culinary experiences were again a beautiful finale to the nights and celebrations. For the guests, a menu of classic Indian fare with modern touches awaited, designed to be both indulgent and comforting. “Comfort was paramount throughout the wedding, thoughtfully considering guests flying in from around the world with diverse backgrounds. The menu was astutely curated, featuring authentic Indian delicacies with a modern twist, and it resonated with everyone—especially Nina’s family from the UK, who adored every bite,” Mr Sidana adds.
There were innovative dishes—imagine Avocado Beetroot Galaouti, zesty Chonak Recheado and the aromatic Raw Mango Curry. The highlight was undoubtedly the Smoked Butter Chicken, which brought a rich, comforting flavour to the table. The couple curated a selection of specially crafted cocktails with playful, personalised names. Among the favourites were Pia’s Passion, a refreshing blend of green apple, basil, absinthe, and mezcal; Zae’s Fav, which combined hibiscus and rose tea with cranberry, cinnamon, and vodka; and the vibrant 5 am, a unique concoction of pineapple, yuzu, kaffir, orange, and Tajin spice mix with gin and martini.
Allure Of The Modern Wedding
For their special day, modern couples are increasingly seeking to blend intimacy with opulence. Zaeden and Nina’s wedding exemplified this trend. The couple’s wedding hosted a close-knit gathering of 120 guests for each function, with only 60 guests staying at the property itself. Nestled in a breathtaking location, the venue featured only eight secluded villas, each thoughtfully designed with a mix of three and four-bedroom configurations. This intimate setting allowed for a truly personalised experience for the couple. With exclusive accommodations, attentive service, and stunning surroundings, the atmosphere was one where love flourished, friendships deepened, and unforgettable memories were etched in time.
Moreover, for couples inspired by Zaeden’s wedding, this one offers a glimpse into blending luxury with intimacy. “The average pricing for each villa is around ₹70,000/night, which includes a gourmet breakfast and a dedicated private butler. With a complete buyout of the venue, couples can enjoy exclusive access to the entire property. The menu can range from ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 per person, depending on the elaborateness of the chosen menu,” Mr Sidana reveals.
Couples are opting for smaller guest lists, prioritising personalising experiences that reflect their unique love stories. Ultimately, modern weddings are about crafting an unforgettable journey that marries romance with sophistication.
