We all know about the intensifying cyclone, Biparjoy. Well, the cyclone, which is causing inclement weather everywhere, has affected air travel as well. Many flights got delayed at the Mumbai airport as the main runway was temporarily closed due to unsafe weather. This forced the passengers to wait for hours and hours, leading to their getting furious on Sunday night. Airlines posted updates on Twitter, while furious passengers too took their ordeal to social media.
Cyclone Biparjoy Causes Chaos At Mumbai Airport
Mumbai airport witnessed chaos as several flights got delayed because of Cyclone Biparjoy. Many passengers complained about their flights being delayed due to strong winds and rain, which affected operations at the Mumbai airport.

Many airlines announced the flight delay and also tried to calm the passengers, explaining how the delay is troublesome for them as well. Passengers expressed their ordeal on social media as they had to wait for hours to board the plane.

Western Coastline Might Expect a Landfall

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a weather forecast. According to it, rain and thunderstorms are expected on Monday in Mumbai. This is because Cyclone Biparjoy has grown into an extremely severe cyclonic storm. The western coastline might witness a landfall on June 15.

The IMD has anticipated moderate and light spells of rain with winds flowing at 45–55 kph in several parts of Maharashtra. This includes Raigad, Palghar, Mumbai, and Thane. High-tide waves have also been seen in Mumbai as the cyclone intensifies into a storm. On Sunday night, some parts of Maharashtra witnessed moderate rainfall, including Mumbai.
