Southern Railway has announced the names of those trains that have been cancelled from December 3 to December 6, 2023. Due to Cyclone Michaung hitting coastal Andhra Pradesh, the Railway cancelled more than 120 trains. Most of these trains pass by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the weather predictions for these places are quite scary at the moment. Incessant heavy rainfall can impact train journeys from Southern cities to Northern cities.

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Venkatraman R (@rv_1409) shared a video of the streets of the Avadi railway station in water and how the tracks are even completely filled with rainwater.

Many of these trains were scheduled to depart from Bengaluru, Chennai, and Thiruvananthapuram and their destinations were cities in different parts of the city such as Howrah, New Delhi, Patna, and more. There are still chances of heavy rainfall in parts of Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, and other places. Passengers who booked tickets on the cancelled trains will receive a full refund for the cancellation. The India Meteorological Department stated that the cyclonic formation will only get stronger and move to the south Andhra coast on December 4.
