The Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has joined hands with City Needs to host Daan Utsav 2024 this October. This utsav will be celebrated across several cities in Punjab along with Hayana’s Panchuka and Delhi. People can take part in this donation drive and donate old or new things like books, clothes, and more. Read on to learn all about the Daan Utsav 2024.

Municipal Corporation Ludhiana Announces Daan Utsav 2024

We read somewhere your smallest act of kindness can be the reason for someone’s biggest smile! And the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is now giving you an opportunity to make this a reality. They have come together with City Needs to host Daan Utsav 2024 from October 2 to 8 this year.

Daan Utsav 2024 will be hosted in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Mohali, Chandigarh, Ropar and Patiala, along with Panchkula and Delhi. The utsav committee has appealed to the residents of these cities to participate and donate old or new items like clothes and appliances for needy persons.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Daan Utsav will be hosted on the lines of the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) model and the ‘Mission LiFE’ programme launched by the Indian government. As per the report, they aim to collect both old and new materials from citizens, institutions, industries, and clubs etc.

How You Can Be A Part Of This Utsav

Residents of the aforementioned cities can participate by donating clothes, books, shoes, toys, games, stationery, electronics, bedding, and even grocery items. The authorities have set up more than 70 dropping centres in Ludhiana alone. They have also set up 50 dropping centres in other cities. All you have to do is drop the items at your nearest dropping centre.

To find the nearest dropping centre, you can give a missed call on this number 7877778803. You will receive the details on WhatsApp for the same. The committee will then segregate and distribute the collected items to NGOs that work directly in slum areas and underserved communities. According to the Hindustan Times report, the collected items will be distributed through RRR centres and NGOs. This will ensure maximum reach for them.
